Robin was born and raised in Texas. She graduated in 1965 from Grapevine High School in Grapevine, Texas. She moved to Minot, North Dakota, and attended Minot State College for two years. She returned to Texas and married David Joe Robbins of Grapevine. They have three children—Jolie Suzanne Rogers, David Ferriel, and Forrest Wayne. All three of the children are unique in their own way.

Robin has worked with children the majority of her life. She worked in child care for eight years before going to work for Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District as a staff aid in special education at Branford Elementary School. She was very active in various school committees and activities. She loves to read and go to shows and loves anything to do with history. Traveling is one of her biggest pleasures, especially when she can visit museums and famous sites from American history.

Her husband, Joe, also graduated from Grapevine High School. He moved to Texas from Ohio when he was nine. He worked for Burlington Air Express. He loves to garden and to give away all types of garden produce. Robin says his garden is the most beautiful in Grapevine.

Robin and Joe have a boat and enjoy fishing and camping.
