Memorial Day Weekend Get-Together & Fix-up 2019

Hey Cousins,

A little Memorial Day Weekend 2019 report from Jones Valley, Caddo Gap, Arkansas, USA.  First of all, a fine turn out of the kinfolk and absolutely beautiful weather: sunny days, cool evenings, and no rain.

There was cabin building, cabin cleaning, mowing, weed-wacking, dining hall checkout and sprucing up. Not to mention some pretty high-quality smoking at the Diffie Cabin.

The high-light of the weekend was the donation of a new commercial level zero-turn Toro 54″ cut mower by Randy and Brooklyn Braswell. This shiny new splendid fast mowing machine replaces the current twelve year old Sears riding mower that was truly on its last blades. The old mower will be retained for now to use at the Cemetery where it is very rocky and uneven ground. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU – BROOKLYN AND RANDY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Valley riders of the new mower were: Gil Jones, Larry Braswell, Brooklyn Braswell, and Milton Cameron.

I’ve uploaded a few pictures from Memorial Day Weekend Get-Together which provide a look at the new mower, how pretty the Valley is, the swimming hole drained and ready for clean out, the Cameron Cabin in final building out, and a walk up the road to Nelson & Micah’s cabin where the creek is so pretty.

So make those plans to be at your 2019 Clingman-Jones Family Reunion,

Cousin Mike
